ww1 Re-enactment

To commemorate Remembrance Day and running alongside KS3’s Elements theme War & Conflict, KS3 held a World War 1 re-enactment. This took place during topic week, being the curtain closer on a busy action packed couple of days.

Pupils were split into two alliances based on WW1, with Thames class representing the Triple Entente, and Humber and Mersey classes creating the Triple Alliance. The re-enactment helped pupils experience the energy sapping hard work soldiers faced to dig their defence trenches. Whilst also celebrating team work and problem solving as alliances prepared for battle.

Before letting battle commence, which pupils thoroughly enjoyed with water bombs for ammunition. The re-enactment ended with both alliances agreeing a truce, and shaking hands to live in peace. The event ended with a minutes silence, to remember those service men and women that that for our country in conflicts around the world.
